The Roadtrip

This journey began after my family and I took a month-long road trip from Kansas City to the West Coast in December of 2017. The experience was so beautiful and transformative that it prompted us to rethink our lifestyle and seek ways to live more authentically and to expose our daughter to the world beyond the suburbs. We began looking at several RVs, and then one day we walked into an Airstream travel trailer and fell in love. We took the brochure home, placed it on a nightstand, and started dreaming of peaceful mornings waking up in nature, exploring beautiful destinations, and sipping coffee by a campfire. The road was calling, and we couldn’t ignore it.

For six years, our family called our Airstream home, wandering from Alaska’s backcountry to both coasts and everywhere between. We shared our adventures online—the wild places, the quiet campfires, the lessons learned on the road—and built a community of travelers hungry for authentic outdoor inspiration. Those years of documenting our journey revealed something powerful:

The Endless Caravan

Cedar + Silver Creative was born from that foundation. I’m Ren Blue (yes, I finally retired “Karen” somewhere around the Continental Divide), and I founded this multi-genre creative studio to work with people, brands, and organizations whose missions align with my own love of the outdoors and responsible travel.

Through partnerships with THOR Industries—including its iconic Airstream brand—I’ve created multi-platform campaigns combining original photography, videography, and written storytelling. My ambassador work with the National Forest Foundation has focused on showcasing the connection between adventure travel and responsible stewardship of public lands, with much of this work featured in THOR’s Ambassador series. I’ve also collaborated with outdoor gear companies, RV brands, and destination resorts to capture the freedom and beauty of life spent connecting with nature.

As a multi-genre creative generalist, I’m continually expanding my craft. I’m currently exploring portrait work with an emphasis on environmental portraiture—capturing individuals and families in the landscapes they love, telling stories of personal connection to place.

Whether it’s a brand campaign, conservation initiative, or personal adventure documentation, each project is an opportunity to create imagery and content that resonates and inspires.

    THE CREATOR

    Hi! You may not see me as much since I'm the one behind the camera, but trust me, I'm there. I'm an adventure photographer, scuba instructor, and a seeker of remote places. I live for capturing the magic of travel and showcasing it through my lens.

    I grew up in Southern California, where my family would embark on long RV camping trips each summer across the western U.S. and Canada. Those memories and the thrill of the open road stayed with me and ignited a passion that inspired this expedition.

    As the founder of Cedar + Silver, I'm on a mission to inspire others to connect with nature and safeguard it for generations to come. Through my images, videos, and blog posts, I hope to ignite a spark in others to embrace a life full of exploration and wonder.

    Lenny

    THE CAPTAIN

    As the only guy in our tiny abode, Lenny's the chill pill that keeps us sane when things go haywire on our adventures, (unless there's a snake, in which it’s certain he will abandon ship).

    Lenny has a heart as big as the Airstream, and he proves it every day through his work with a non-profit. Whether it's a fellow nomad or a complete stranger, he’s always willing to lend a hand.

    Oh, and did I mention his "killer" dad jokes? Yeah, they're so bad they're almost good and never fail to elicit eye-rolls. If you want a great friend, hang with Lenny around a campfire. If you want a best friend, just ask him if he wants to have a beer with you!

    Lilya

    THE CLIMBER

    Lilya might be a teenager, but she's already experienced so much! She has fallen in love with exploring and her curiosity never ceases. She tackles everything with a sense of humor that's as infectious as it is endearing.

    Lilya's got big dreams, and we're pretty sure she's going to make them all come true. She wants to be a pilot, summit Denali, and travel on a boat with her friends - and honestly, we wouldn't be surprised if she did all three at the same time.

    With a love for art, hiking, and climbing, she's only just getting started. Lilya is unstoppable, and we have no doubt that she's going to leave her mark on the world in a big way.
